Sample images of events and locations are used by photographers to sell their work and services. These images are samples of my work. Like everyone else, I want you to like my work, but if you don't, I have no problem with that.

Everything that we do in life is subjective, based on our goals, needs, and wants. Some people like what you do, some have no opinion, and others can't stand anything that you do.

If you are a very sociable person , and spend a great deal of your time networking, you might increase your popularity and demand. However, that isn't always true.

A friend badgered me into entering a juried contest, and it was open as a mixed media show including photography. I waited until the very last day and decided to submit three images. It was juried and I had one image accepted. That , by itself, brightened my day. but there was more to come. Someone had seen my work on the wall , prior the the Artists' Reception, and it was the first item sold at the show. It went to a private collector in South Dakota. I was thrilled! After that, all I had to do was admire he other artists' work. It was a great day for me. I have had none since then.

I have been told , as a photographer or an artist I should enter more of my work into juried exhibitions. I agreed that it is good to be judged by your peers, but one friend told me to only enter the juried process when it is a blind jury. She told me that a blind jury is less likely to be influenced by the name and only judges the work.

I used to be fairly thin skinned, but over the years I have learned that the only thing you can do is pursue your passion . Try to enjoy the ride, without worrying about someone else's opinion about what is right for them, and you.

II have come to a conclusion that your work is your work. If you are happy with it, it's good. If you are not, it's not good. If someone else likes it, that's great. If not, that's O. K. too.
