About Scott

I grew up in the Chicagoland area in the 50's and 60's. I dropped out of college and joined the Marine Corps. At that time, you were guaranteed some international travel. After one memorable, international tour, I returned to Illinois, and got married to my wife Kay. We started a family and enjoyed the company our boys Jeremy and Tim. We moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1974 . In 1976, our daughter, Stephanie was born in Willcox, Arizona. I worked briefly as an insurance salesman, then an Arizona Highway Patrolman, an illustrator, screen printer, a graphic artist, art director, and finally a professional photographer. It took me a long time to find something that I really enjoy doing everyday. My first love(other than my wife of 39 years) is landscape and nature photography. I am always surprised at the many ways the camera directs my eye to satisfaction, pleasure and beauty. Along with that is an excitement to shoot events and weddings. I guess, as a cop I saw so many negative things, I decided I didn't need any more drama in my life. It's great to spend time with people enjoying themselves, and doing the things that they do with gusto. I am a people watcher and take great pleasure in the opportunities to capture special expressions. My greatest pleasure is watching people enjoy life by brightening our surroundings with a sincere, pure and natural smile.

My shooting style is mostly candid because I don't like to interfere with the fun, but I am capable of traditional and journalistic styles. If you think you would like to speak to me as a potential photographer for your wedding or event plans just call me. I believe we need to get together, discuss expectations and capabilities as well as meet one another on a one to one basis. Although it is a business arrangement, I like to approach it as a potential and ongoing friendship.
